Mr. E-ZY: the original, invented by Simon Rutz

Mr. E-ZY is a Dutch brand of luxury inflatable seating with a built-in powerbank, invented and developed by Simon Rutz and on the market since early 2023.

Behind Mr. E-ZY is not a large corporation, but a family: mine. In this blog, I’ll tell you how I came up with the idea, why the built-in powerbank makes my product unique and why we call Mr. E-ZY the original.

Who invented the Mr. E-ZY?

I’m Simon Rutz, and I invented and developed the Mr. E-ZY. Together with my wife Daniella and our son Kane, I form the heart of Mr. E-ZY: a small family business that works with great dedication. On the about us page, I tell you more about our company.

I designed the product myself and have kept developing it ever since. That’s why we call Mr. E-ZY the original: the idea, the design and the improvements come from me as the inventor.

How did the idea for the Mr. E-ZY come about?

The idea grew out of life outdoors. I love the beach, and I noticed how much space beach chairs take up in the car and how awkward it is to lug them around. I often found renting a sunbed expensive, and on a lovely warm day the sunbeds are often all taken as well. On cycling trips, I wondered why I couldn’t take a luxury chair or lounger along in my bike bag. And from friends with a campervan, I heard about limited space and the weight of camping furniture.

All those experiences led to my plan for a light, compact piece of seating that fills itself automatically at the press of a button. For me, seating and lying comfort came first. After three years of intensive development, the Mr. E-ZY was launched on the Dutch market in early 2023. Our range now consists of four models: the Chair, the Premium Lounger, the Sunbed and the Mattress. That also became the promise of our brand: Mr. E-ZY makes life easy.

Why does the powerbank make the Mr. E-ZY unique?

For me, it’s the built-in powerbank that makes my product unique. We developed the powerbank ourselves, and it’s built into every Mr. E-ZY. You don’t need direct access to electricity: anywhere in the world, you fill the Mr. E-ZY with just one press of a button, in about 70 seconds. An external pump is no longer needed.

With a full powerbank, you can inflate the Mr. E-ZY 10 to 20 times, depending on use and conditions. When the powerbank is empty, you simply recharge it at home, just like your phone battery. That takes 3 hours at most. Meanwhile, you can also charge your phone with the same powerbank. So you always have your own luxury seat, wherever you are: on the beach, in the park, in the forest or by the campervan.

What sets Mr. E-ZY apart from other brands?

I deliberately choose nylon with a TPU coating: strong, light and supple, even in warm weather. I also work with European sizes. There are no middlemen: I have our products manufactured and we sell them ourselves, directly via mr-ezy.com. This way, I keep control of quality and service myself.

Customer friendliness is a top priority for me. I’m personally on top of customer service. You can take all your questions to our chatbot, which has an answer to every question, 24 hours a day.
